Planning software

Plan your technicians' day, and let the customer know you are on your way.

A board and a calendar for the office, a daily route you confirm and a phone screen for the technician with photo and signature.

  • Sign up and hear among the first when there is room
  • The demo is simply open
  • Business only, all prices excl. VAT

This is how Planning works for Dijkzon: the week board shows the appointments per mechanic. A customer asks on the booking page to book maintenance for their heat pump and the request lands in Not yet scheduled. You drag it to Tuesday 10:00 with Mo. First it overlaps with another appointment and there is a conflict, then it fits and the conflict disappears. The customer gets a text that Mo arrives at 10:05.

What you get from Planning

Planning records who does what and when, and gives the technician their own day on their phone.

A board with the columns To do, In progress and Done. The card Hybrid heat pump Veere moves from To do to In progress.

Projects that each have their own board

Columns like To do, In progress and Done. A card moves along.

A day route for Mohamed with three stops and an expected arrival. At Corrie Bakker the chip On the way appears, followed by the message to the customer.

A day route with expected arrival

Every appointment is a stop, with the drive time from the previous one.

A message to Corrie Bakker with Mohamed's expected arrival at 10:20. It waits for you, you sign, and the chip becomes Sent.

The customer knows you are on your way

The message is ready, and only goes out after your signature.

Recreated with made-up data.

  • A day as a route

From a technician's appointments you make a daily route.

  • A route you confirm

A suggested order is a proposal: nothing changes until you accept it.

  • The customer knows you are on your way

When the technician taps On my way, the customer can get a message with the expected arrival.

  • Photo and signature on the phone

The technician sees only their own day, opens navigation in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze (one address per tap) and records a photo and the customer's signature at the stop.

One board for the office and field service

  • Projects with their own board

A project belongs to a customer or is internal, with columns such as To do, In progress, Review and Done.

  • A calendar per person

A lane per person with appointments.

  • Sprints for teams that work agile

The same boards also work with a backlog, sprints, a burndown and a retro, for those who plan that way.

Recreated with made-up data.

How to plan a day for your technicians, in three steps

  1. Put the appointments in the calendar

Per appointment a customer, an address and a time. Open jobs without an appointment are under Still to schedule.

  2. Make the route and accept the proposal

Choose a day, have a shorter order proposed and confirm. Only then does the technician see their route.

  3. The technician works through their day

One button per moment: on my way, arrived, done. Then photo and signature at the stop.

The director runs it

You ask, the director reads the board, you decide.

You talk to a director. He prepares a proposal, the checks run, and nothing goes out until you sign.

Why Denkploeg

Planning puts your technicians' day on a board and in a route. The route is a proposal you confirm, the customer gets a message when the technician is on the way and the technician records photo and signature on their phone.

Source and reference date: Denkploeg (app.denkploeg.nl/planning-software); Jobber (www.getjobber.com/pricing/); Microsoft (www.microsoft.com/nl-nl/dynamics-365/products/field-service/pricing) ().

Amounts are in the currency of the source and are not converted. Open means we could not establish it on that page, not that it is missing. Whether VAT is in an amount, we only say when the source says so. Is something wrong, or out of date? Let us know.

Frequently asked questions about planning software

What is planning software for technicians?

Software with which you plan the appointments, routes and work of a field service, and with which the technician sees and works through their day on their phone, with photo and signature.

Can a customer see when the technician is coming?

When the technician taps On my way, the customer can get an email with the expected arrival. That only happens if the contact has an email address and explicitly consented to email. The customer does not see the technician's live position.

Can the technician get a signature?

Yes. After arriving the technician adds a photo and the customer's signature. A photo is rebuilt first, so location data is dropped.

Who sees a technician's route?

The technician sees only their own day. Whoever manages the team sees the routes and the proof. A fellow technician does not see your route.

What does planning software cost?

Planning has its own package. The price is under 'What Planning costs' on this page, from our price list.

Honest about what Planning does not do

What we do not do:

  • The message that the technician is on the way only goes to a contact with an email address who explicitly consented to email. Otherwise nothing goes out and the screen says why.
  • Drive times are currently an estimate based on the straight-line distance, without traffic, and not a Google Maps calculation. The screen says it is an estimate. If we do not know an address or drive time, it says unknown.
  • No integration that sends anything to a fleet system: vehicles are read-only.
  • Planning does not track your technicians live. The customer sees the expected arrival in a message, not a dot on a map.
  • Planning does not plan your day by itself. The route proposal calculates a shorter order and you confirm; there is no AI planning.
