Assigning agency members to clients

How you give a member of your agency a role per client (reader, maker or administrator), what a member sees and why you never give ownership of a client here.

DocumentationAssigning agency members to clients

Under Assign on Agency (/agency/<your-agency>/assignments) you decide who on your team works for which client.

What a member sees

A member of the agency only sees the clients they are assigned to, with the role you gave: reader, maker or administrator. The owner and the administrators of the agency are always administrators in every client and are not in the choice.

Assigning

Choose a member, a role and one or more clients at once, and assign. Changing a role takes effect at once. You withdraw an assignment with Withdraw next to the client. Only the owner and the administrators of the agency assign.

What never works

  • Giving ownership of a client. An agency role never silently gives ownership; deciding who gets in to a client workspace stays a deliberate act. A role contractor does not exist.
  • Assigning someone in another agency's client, or someone who is not a member of your agency.
  • Overwriting that person's own membership. If someone already has a role of their own in a client, it stays.

Does a member leave?

Whoever leaves the agency, or becomes owner or administrator of the agency, loses all assignments at once. That happens in the database, even if someone changes it another way. It is in the log of every client.

A member counts as one seat, even with five clients: see Seats and storage.
