Customizing the sidebar

The order of studios and screens, your own folders, hiding or pinning items, for yourself or for the whole workspace, and what Reset to default does.

DocumentationCustomizing the sidebar

At the bottom of the sidebar you find Customize sidebar. Use it to make the sidebar your own: a different order, your own folders, items you do not use out of sight, and the things you need often pinned at the top. Nothing changes by default. What you change is saved straight away.

What you can do

  • Move. Drag a line by its handle, or choose it and use Up, Down, Indent and Outdent. On a phone the buttons at the bottom work without dragging.
  • With the keyboard. Arrow up and down choose a line. With Alt and an arrow you move it: up and down in the list, right to move it in and left to move it out. F2 renames, Space hides or shows. After every action your screen reader reads out the new position.
  • Folders. New folder makes a folder with your own name. Removing a folder loses nothing: its items take its place. Folders nest at most three levels deep under a studio (Planning, Teams, Development, Backlog is the maximum).
  • Hide. The eye hides an item for you. It is only a preference: the address keeps working and search still finds it. Put it back under Hidden. This also applies to a studio that is not in your plan (with the lock).
  • Rename and pin. Give an item your own name (the original name is in the tooltip) and Pin puts it at the top under Pinned. Pins are yours alone.
  • Undo, Reset to default. Undo takes back your last action. Reset to default returns you to your workspace layout (or your agency's, or the default) and you can undo that right away.

For whom

An owner or administrator chooses For whom at the top: Only for me or For the workspace. The workspace layout applies to everyone who has not changed anything themselves. An agency can set a layout for all of its client workspaces; a client workspace follows it automatically unless it switches off Follow the agency's layout. What you change personally always wins.

What stays as it was

The sidebar only shows what you have access to. A layout decides the place and order of what you may see, never what you may do. An item you may not see, or that is not in your plan, cannot be shown either. If a module is switched off the item disappears and returns to the same place when the module is switched on again. A new screen appears at the end of its studio.
