The bell at the top right shows what needs your attention: an approval that is waiting, a run that failed, a support question without an answer, work assigned to you, an item you watch that was updated, an overdue follow-up or a direct message. At the top is what is open right now; below it your notifications per day, newest first.
In the bell
- Unread is bold, with a small block next to the time. Opening a notification marks it as read.
- Filter by type with the chips, or choose Unread.
- All read sets the counter to zero; Undo in the message that follows puts it back.
- A notification disappears after 90 days. All notifications of a workspace are also on their own page, via All notifications.
Choosing what you hear where
Under My account, Notifications you choose four channels per type: in the app, by email, WhatsApp and web push. Under each switch it says where the setting comes from:
- the Denkploeg default,
- your agency, which can choose for all its clients at once,
- the workspace, which may differ from that,
- and you. Your choice wins, and you can reset it per type or all at once.
Your choices apply only to you and need no extra permission. You only see the types your role has access to.
Security of your account is always on in the app and by email. You cannot turn that off, and neither can an admin.
Quiet hours and the digest
- During quiet hours you get no web push and no WhatsApp. What comes in arrives afterwards in one message. The app and your email keep working. You choose the times and the days, and whether something urgent (such as an approval) may still come through.
- The digest bundles what is not urgent into one email per day or per week. A day without notifications sends no email.
Security always goes out right away, also during quiet hours, and is never part of a digest.
Web push
Web push gives you an alert on your phone or computer, even when Denkploeg is not open. We never ask on your first visit: only when you have something to sign for the second time, or when you turn it on yourself. Only after your click does the browser ask for permission. A push only names the type, never a client, name or amount.
Each device is listed separately, with a test notification and a button to remove it. On an iPhone or iPad it works when you add Denkploeg to your home screen and open it from there.
WhatsApp is already listed, but only works once the message template has been approved by Meta. Until then the column is off, with that reason.
Planning roster requests
Planners with current agency access also receive internal roster requests without separate workspace membership. An explicit workspace role takes precedence. Revoked access removes the notification and prevents later delivery. Planning requests remain internal app notifications.
A notification asking you to review a submission or sign an approval disappears once that decision is no longer pending. Expired approvals do not count. An Open now summary and the same personal notification do not increase the bell twice. Filter counts belong to the list you can open. After reviewing or signing, the bell updates without reloading the page. Other notifications remain unread until you read them.
A private message in Discord, and your GitHub name
Under My account, Notifications you connect your Discord account with a code you type in Discord (/koppel). You then get a private message for newly assigned work, a comment on an item you watch and an approval that is waiting. Also enter your GitHub name, and you get a notification when someone asks you for a review on GitHub, and for a pull request or failed checks on an item of yours. You can turn private messages off or disconnect whenever you like. Nothing ever goes out beyond workspaces you are a member of yourself.
